Sermon By: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 15:12-34 The resurrection of Jesus is the hinge point of history. If it is true, the gospel is true. If it is false, the gospel is false. Everything hinges and depends upon it because the resurrection was the vindication by God that our sin was paid in full on the cross.

Sermon by: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 Humanity has decided we are smarter than the One who is all knowing, stronger than the One who is all powerful, more important than the One who created all things. Paul declares God has a much different definition of wisdom and power than the world has. The wisdom of God turns the wisdom of world upside down. The power of the cross turns the power of the world upside down. Paul then points us to our own salvation as evidence God does not think and act the way the world thinks and acts. Sermon by: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 The cross of Christ is the heart of the gospel and the central theme of Christianity. The cross is the supreme display of God’s love, wisdom, and power. The only message that can give man the power to overcome sin, Satan, and self is the message of Christ crucified. All the combined wisdom of man and all the combined power of man cannot save one soul, but the cross of Christ can forgive and eliminate sin once and for all. Sermon By: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 1:10-17 We don’t have to agree on everything, but we do have to have a common commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. If you can get on the same page about Jesus, then you can have Christian unity. Whenever we put anything but Jesus at the center, we get in trouble. When we put Jesus at center, and proclaim His Word, and do His will- the result is unity. Sermon By: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 1:1-9 Paul says we are enriched in everything by Christ. The Greek word for enriched is plutocrat. The idea is not that we are like spiritual millionaires, more like spiritual billionaires. The idea is we have an overflowing and over-abundance of riches in Christ. And what are we rich in? Paul says grace. When you become a believer in Jesus, even if you are materially poor, you become spiritually rich in grace. Sermon By: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 15:20-26 Easter is message of hope and resurrection, it is a message of good news. You don’t have live in fear of death because Jesus has conquered death and He’s coming again. The resurrection removes the fear of death once and for all. Because Jesus is alive, death is no longer fearful or final. |
