1 Samuel 17

​When read this story we are tempted to put ourselves in story. We are David and we are fighting Goliath.  But the Hero of the story not David, it is God.  The whole point of the story is God defeated Goliath, and He used a young unassuming boy to do it.  The hero of every story of Bible not David, Moses, or Elijah.  The hero of every story is God; ultimately the hero is the Lord Jesus Christ.  David was a temporary Savior, but Jesus is our eternal Savior.

​Have you ever asked the question, does it pay to serve God?  The answer is yes.  God is at work.  You may not see it.  You may not feel it, but God is working in His timing to accomplish His will and purpose in your life and in the world.

​The biblical view of money is this: Everything belongs to God and He gives us some to manage for Him.  Here's how God wants us to manage money: Earn it honestly.  Spend it wisely.  Give it generously.  That's God's way.

Malachi 2:17-3:7

​In every story of the Bible we see two simultaneous truths: God is a God of justice and God is a God of grace.  The clearest example of that is the Lord Jesus Christ.  Jesus stood for justice more than anyone who has ever lived.  Jesus stood for grace more than anyone who has ever lived.  Jesus died to satisfy the justice of God.  Jesus died to extend the grace of God.  Malachi says the Messiah who is God Himself is going to come down to man and reveal to us God’s justice and God’s grace.
