Sermon by: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Everyone wants love, but few can define it. Love is not the same as liking. Love is not a feeling. Love is not a behavior. Love is a choice to wish the good of another. While love is not a feeling, it does lead to feelings; while love is not a behavior, it does demonstrate itself in our behavior. But the most important things about love is God’s nature and our love is to reflect His nature or His love.

Sermon by: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 We are all a part of the body of Christ. Just like the eye gives the gift of sight to bless the rest of the body, you were blessed by God with spiritual gifts to bless other people. God says you need church as much as the eye needs the hand, or the ear needs the foot. You need the church, and the church needs you. You are a gift to us, we are a gift to you, as a whole we are a gift to the world as we take the gospel to them. Sermon by: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 12:8-10; 28-30 A Christian has two purposes: to know and walk with Jesus, and help others know and walk with Jesus. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus, and God has given us spiritual gifts to aid us in our mission. Spiritual gifts are a special empowering of the Holy Spirit to serve God in a particular aspect of the mission and ministry of the church. Sermon by: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 Every believer has been given a spiritual gift by God and every believer is important in the ministry and mission of the church. The gifts of the Spirit are manifestations of God’s attributes in our lives: His wisdom, His knowledge, His discernment, His leadership, and His power. The purpose of the gifts are to strengthen the Lordship of Jesus in our lives and produce humility, unity, and maturity within the church. Sermon by: Pastor Matt Spradlin Matthew 4:1-11 Whatever you’ve been tempted with, Jesus was tempted by that same thing. Because He understands your temptation, He can help and aid you. But more than that, Jesus overcame temptation to display His power over sin and the devil. Satan would cut you to pieces and utterly destroy you if he could, but in the end, all the scheming of Satan against you will come to nothing because Christ has overcome him. |
