Sermon by: Stephen Downes James 1:2-4 How you respond to trials, undesirable events or experiences, can either destroy you or establish you. Today, learn how to respond right so that you can experience growth and grace in your trials. Sermon By: Pastor Matt Spradlin Matthew 7:24-29 Sermon by: Pastor Matt Spradlin Matthew 7:7-12 Sermon By: Pastor Matt Spradlin Matthew 7:1-6 Jesus says we are to judge not. Jesus is not forbidding making moral or spiritual judgments. In fact, the whole Sermon on the Mount is Jesus making moral and spiritual judgments. What Jesus is saying is we are not to have a critical spirit that delights in focusing on the faults of others. He is not saying do not exercise discernment. He is saying do not set yourself up as if you are the Judge of others because that role belongs to God and God alone. Sermon By: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Samuel 1: 8-28 Faith seeks the Lord in our sorrow. Hannah’s home was bad, but her pain led her to fellowship with God. She was heartbroken, but she brought her burden to the Lord. If you have pain in your heart, learn to take it to the Lord and lay it at His feet. 1 Peter 5:7 says “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” God is not burdened by our burdens. God says give them to Me because you are not strong enough to bear them, but I am. Sermon by: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 16:13-24 Everything begins with who God is, and God is most clearly revealed in the gospel of Jesus. The Corinthians had allowed the thinking of the world to infiltrate their thinking, and it began to denigrate their love and unity. Paul writes to them to view everything through the lens of the gospel. The idea is gospel wisdom produces godly love, moral living, and true Christlike community. Sermon by: Pastor Matt Spradlin 1 Corinthians 15:35-58 God is holy and we are not. God is immortal and we are mortal. Our bodies are corrupted by sin and cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven. God’s plan is for our mortal bodies to be transformed into sinless and glorified bodies. We can’t change who or what we are, but in the resurrection God is going to change who and what we are, and it will be glorious. Sermon by: Pastor Matt Spradlin Matthew 21:1-11 We love the idea of a king and his kingdom. Almost all great kid’s movies are about a King or Prince coming to the salvation of someone in need of rescue. Something in our heart about a benevolent ruler who sacrifices Himself for the good of others. In this passage, we have the beautiful image of Jesus as the King of universe and the Prince of Peace riding into Jerusalem to save it and to save us from our sins. |
