Wednesday Night Service
We have a lot planned for this summer, and one ministry I am particularly excited about is offering a Wednesday Evening Service. Summer can be a busy and distracting time and we want to provide an opportunity for a midweek spiritual refill and refreshing.
On Wednesday nights beginning May 16th I will be teaching a verse-by-verse study of the book of James called "Living it: Practical Guidelines for the Christian Life." We will have a time of worship, Bible teaching, prayer, and fellowship after the service (drinks and snacks will be provided). Childcare will be provided at no cost. We are also inviting kids from first grade through fifth grade to join the service. I remember attending the Wednesday Evening Service during summer as a kid and God used it in my life as I grew stronger relationships with everyone in the church and I grew in my knowledge and understanding of God's word.
Once a month we will have a separate special event for the children, but the rest of the time they may join us in the service. I am really looking forward to our Wednesday Evening Service this summer as we grow in our walk with the Lord and in community with one another. It is going to be a very exciting time, and I hope to see you there.
Date: Wednesday Evenings beginning May 16th | 6:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
Location: Fellowship Room (B-204 upstairs) | Childcare in B-102 (downstairs)
Summer in Sports
We are very excited to enter into another summer of Shoreline Sports. For more than 20 years, we have been blessed to share the love of Jesus Christ with the community through our sports camps and unique programs. Here are the three goals for Summer 2018:
First, we want to chart the character development of our workers. God has blessed us with more than 35 workers again this summer. These young people typically grow up in our program and return to lead the next generation of campers. During the last two weeks, these young workers have experienced more than 7 hours of Bible Study with us and started down the path of becoming the godly leaders that our program needs. We have another 4 hours of training in sports and scripture, so we appreciate your support and prayers.
Second, we want to share the gospel with our campers and help disciple both the campers who know Christ and our workers. Every camp day, we spend at least fifteen minutes in devotions. This summer, we are sharing the stories of the entire Bible in 6 weeks. The focus is on who God is through the Bible and who He is for the young people receiving the instruction.
Finally, we focus on evangelism every day in the summer. The devotions all share the gospel each week and educate the campers on the love of Christ and His desire to have a relationship with them. Our workers' training thoroughly investigates the Great Commission and walks each worker through role playing in sharing the Great News of scripture.
We thank you for your prayers, especially July 10 through 13 when we travel to San Diego to lead sports camps for other churches.
Summer in Children's Ministry
We have some new things happening and new volunteers in the children ministry with some exciting events for the summer time! We have added about 9 more volunteers within different capacities. We have also added an emphasis on prayer and worship in addition to our study and memorization of God's word. Relying on the power of the Holy Spirit, the same power who
raised Jesus from the dead, to work through our leaders, our kids, and their families is essential in furthering the kingdom of God. There are three things we are in the process of adding to our Shoreline Kids ministry; Prayer Partners, prayer time, and worship time.
Prayer Partners- I am so excited to say that we currently have 11 of our 15 regular attending Sunday kids being prayed for a few times a week! Many of our agebusters have agreed to take a child and pray diligently for him or her and the family. My prayer is that we would have a prayer partner for all of our Sunday and Wednesday kids by the end of May. You do not have to be an Agebuster to be a prayer partner; you just have to be willing to pray for a child a few times a week. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in. It would be amazing for each kid to have multiple people in prayer for him or her and the family.
Early Bird Prayer Time- In the next month we are also going to be adding an early bird prayer time for the kids starting at 8:30 am in room B105 (our children's room). It will be 20 minutes where any kid who is interested can spend time in prayer about things going on in his or her
life. The prayer facilitator will also help teach the kids about other things to pray for as well to deepen their prayer life.
Sunday Worship Time- We have added a time of worshiping God through music in our Sunday morning kids' worship service. Not only can we praise God through music, but we can memorize scripture and truths about God as well. Some mornings we sing to God through CD's and other times we are blessed to be led with live music from members of our own
Upcoming Summer Children's Events:

It has already been so exciting to see the Lord work in Children's Ministry in so many ways. I can't wait to see what He has in store for the rest of this year and years to come.
