We are really excited to be entering into our busy summer season in youth ministry. God has been working in the lives of our students, bringing new students into our ministry, and drawing our current students into deeper faith through Bible study and community. Our youth room has undergone a remodel with new paint, pictures, decorations, a surround sound system, a video game room, and we are still adding a few more updates that will enhance our ability to use videos and slideshows for Bible study and events.
Our most recent event was Secret Church- a 4 hour video study of the entire Old Testament. We had 17 students and most of them stayed awake through the whole study! Praise God for his faithfulness and for the 17 students who attended Secret Church and were blessed by the study. In June we will have our annual All-Nighter! Last year we had a record breaking number of students attend our all-nighter and we are in need of drivers who can help drive our students from Shoreline to different venues and back to Shoreline around 2 a.m. If you are available to help with this event, please contact Brad at bschultz@shorelinebaptist.org. Summer camp is only 3 months away! It is one of the most spiritually impactful events in the lives of our students that we do all year long. We have 4 spots still available for students who have completed grades 6-12. You can get more information and register online. Feel free to contact Brad if you have any questions or concerns.

Happy New Year from the Anchored Youth leadership team. In 2018 we saw students commit their lives to Christ, get baptized, and grow deeper in their faith. We started a student leadership program and are thrilled to see students leading and serving in our church. Our youth have studied several books of the Bible, World Religions, and have discussed difficult Biblical questions on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings throughout this last year. Our hope and prayer is that 2019 will bring even more spiritual growth, new believers, and significant change in the lives of our students.
If you haven’t checked out our website recently, it has been greatly improved and is very informative and easy to navigate. All event registrations will now be online. No cash will be accepted for events that require pre-registration- all payments can be made online. It is an honor and a privilege to serve and lead your kids closer to the Lord on a weekly basis. We want you to know that we are praying for you. Teenage years can be very difficult to navigate as parents, especially in today’s culture. One helpful resource to encourage you as parents is called Parent Cue. They have an app that gives great ideas about how to connect with your teen, and they post encouragement and great ideas on Instagram and Facebook as well. Please let us know how we can pray for you and/or support you specifically by emailing Brad at bschultz@shorelinebaptist.org. Sincerely, Pastor Brad I hope you all had a great summer. We took 33 students to camp, and saw God work in incredible ways in the lives of our students. We celebrated 2 professions of faith and 3 decisions for baptism. Several of our youth are actively serving in other ministries at Shoreline on Sunday mornings such as Preschool, Children’s, and Worship Ministries. A large number of students also helped out at VBS which saw 200+ kids throughout the week. We are very excited about the spiritual growth of students in our youth group and cannot wait to see what God will continue to do in their lives this next year.
One exciting opportunity coming up for parents at Shoreline is the Parenting Conference September 28-29. We want to encourage all parents to attend this conference as it will equip you to have intentional, gospel-centered conversations with your students about difficult topics they are exposed to on a daily basis. It is a video series led by Dr. Russell D. Moore, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. We are excited to kick off the start of the school year with some exciting events. If you have any questions about our upcoming events or anything related to youth, please feel free to contact me at bschultz@shorelinebaptist.org. ![]() I am extremely excited about our Christ Centered Parenting Conference this Fall because the essence of Christian parenting is discipleship. This conference is very much focused on how to disciple our kids while doing life together with them (Deuteronomy 6:6-9). You will gain a lot of biblical guidance and practical wisdom to help you teach and relate to your kids. Whether you have children now or you plan to have children at some point in the future, this conference will prepare and benefit you in the task of Christian parenting. I also believe everyone, even those without children, could greatly benefit from the biblical worldview issues addressed in this conference. Our task as Christian parents is to prepare our children to face the culture with confidence in the Lord and a clear understanding of His Word so that their thinking and character are shaped by the Lord and not the culture. However, sometimes we may feel unprepared to address the many complex cultural issues our children are being faced with on a daily basis. The Christ Centered Parenting Conference is designed to help you as a parent address issues your children are facing from a biblical worldview. Topics include: gender, suicide, depression, anxiety, pornography, same-sex marriage, singleness, dating, marriage, and divorce. As parents, we are always growing in our walk with the Lord and in our role as a parent, and this conference is designed to help us grow even more. Date: Friday and Saturday September 28-29 Time: Friday 6:15-8:45 p.m. and Saturday 8:30-11:45 a.m. Location: Fellowship Room (Upstairs B-204) Cost: $10 per person (includes dinner, breakfast, and childcare) |
