Online Services - Another Update

Hi Shoreline Family,
We had a wonderful time worshiping online Sunday morning. I hope and pray the Lord is strengthening your faith and love for Him during this time. We want to let you know how our church is mobilizing online to do the ministry God has called us to do. Please let us know if you have a need (food, toilet paper, supplies, etc.) and we will do our best to help. If you are trying to help someone you know, we may be able to help as well. We do not want to miss an opportunity to love and serve one another and our community.

As I mentioned on Sunday it is important that we stay connected during this time. Below, you will find ways to do that.

Family Devotions: We are encouraging families to gather together for a time of family worship, Bible study, and prayer. After the time of worship, we are encouraging families to watch "Psalm 23" by Matt Chandler on RightNow Media. Each week we will look at a different verse in Psalm 23 (the devotional is around 10 minutes). We then encourage you to have a discussion time as a family and to close out the time in family prayer. You can log in by going to rightnowmedia.com or by using the RightNow Media app.

Children and Youth Ministry
It is important that all of our students stay connected with each other and their leaders (the leaders are definitely missing them). Please encourage your kids to reach out to their leaders if they have a special need/request. We are also planning weekly meetings for them:

CHILDREN (1st-5th grade)

Wednesdays at 6:00 PM
Mrs. Kandyce will send an email with a link to login to a Zoom meeting. You can access Zoom with an app on your mobile device or from a computer. This will give us the chance to see everyone and have a time to catch up and pray.

YOUTH (6th-12th grade)

Wednesdays at 7:00 PM
Brad & Heidi will send an email link to login to Zoom. You can access Zoom with an app on your mobile device or from a computer. We will be meeting separately (Junior High / High School) to check in with everyone and pray. Students will need to request a password from Brad/Heidi so if you do not have their phone numbers please email them to get their numbers at [email protected] or [email protected].

Life Groups
Our Life Groups are continuing to meet and connect online. Here is a list of the different groups and how to connect with them. Just click the name of the leader below to email them for more information or to be added to the group email list.

Online Services Update

Dear Shoreline Family,
As most of you know, the state of California has issued a "stay at home" order. This means we will be unable to meet in person on Sunday morning, but we will still be meeting online! Please watch this video from Pastor Matt for details and a word of encouragement. There are links below for ways to watch the service.

Facebook: go to our Facebook page to watch the service at 10:30 AM this Sunday.
Youtube: go to our new Youtube channel to watch the service at 10:30 AM this Sunday.
Website: go to our church website to watch the service at 10:30 AM this Sunday. We will also have the sermons from previous weeks located here.

We are also looking into having a Wednesday Night worship service streamed online so we can gather together to worship through music. More details about that will be announced soon.

This situation is in constant flux. For now we will plan on meeting online this way Sunday mornings. Once we have any updated information we will contact you.

Coronavirus Response

Dear Shoreline Family,
We want to share with our church family our Coronavirus Response Plans. Of course, this is a fluid situation and can change at any point, but we want you to know our current response. We are certainly not panicked, but we want to do what we can to exercise caution. We plan to continue to have Life Group and Worship Service on Sunday, but in light of the virus we are taking the following precautions:

If you do not feel well or have a cough, please stay home and we will put the sermon on our website.
We encourage everyone to verbally affirm your love and appreciation for others without direct contact (hugs, handshakes, bumps, etc.).
We encourage everyone to spread out in our worship service and practice social distancing. We have plenty of room in our Worship Center to do so.
We have increased our cleaning regiment, especially for door handles, toys, common counter space, etc.
We will leave all doors we can propped open to avoid common contact.
We will not pass out bulletins or other items.
We will not pass offering plates, but have plates in the back where people can drop off their offering. We also have online giving: https://shorelinebaptist.churchcenter.com/giving
We will temporarily discontinue our community coffee and refreshment stations (feel free to bring your own coffee or refreshments).
We will use gloves to pass out snacks in our children’s ministry. As always, if you prefer to bring your children into the service with you we welcome you doing so.
We are canceling our Wednesday Evening Bible Study, Awana, and Wednesday evening Youth Group through the rest of March. We encourage families to do family devotions.
We will be postponing our sports ministry for two weeks.
We are postponing our March Connection Lunch, Bubble Mania, Agebuster events, and Secret Church, and we will keep you posted on future plans.
We are putting a plan in place to minister to anyone potentially quarantined by dropping off food and supplies at their doorstep. If you would like to give to that effort you can do so online by picking the “benevolence” option. If you would like to be a part of the response team, please let us know by phone or email. If you have any needs, let us know by emailing, [email protected]. We want to help one another, and we want to help our people help other people as well.

This situation is a fluid situation based on new information, and we will keep you informed of any future changes. The worship of God is our highest priority, which includes the preaching of the Word, corporate worship, and the fellowship of believers. With that said, we do not want to become legalistic and if you feel that you need to stay home, we understand and completely support your decision. If at some point we temporarily cancel our worship service, we will try to livestream the sermon for our church family to watch online. As always, we put the sermon online and it can be accessed on our website.
As believers, we are not to live by fear, but rather to live by faith. If you start to worry, I encourage you to pick up your Bible and spend time with the Lord in His Word and prayer. Let’s pray for one another, our neighbors, and most of all for opportunities to share the good news of Jesus with others. I love all of you and if you have any needs let us know.
