Our
third "honoring" service for the summer will be held on Sunday, August 31st
during the morning service. As we prepare for the 2008-09 school year,
Shoreline is setting aside this day to recognize and honor those who current
work in and those who have retired from serving in our Shoreline Christian
School as well as other private and public education institutions.
If
you are an educator or former educator...or have a friend or family member who
is or was, we invite you to join us for this special day.
We will conclude this special day with a BBQ and a Super Bunco Party in the gym
- the BBQ starts at 5:00 pm and the Bunco games start at 6:00. Join
us for a great meal and evening of fun as we wrap up the summer!
AWANA Meeting -
Wednesday, September 3rd, 7:00 pm in the Shoreline Cafe.
AWANA will resume on Wednesday, September 17th. Awana depends upon
volunteers to make it a successful program. We can use some additional
volunteers for the 2008-09 program. If you are interested in working, we
need persons who would be willing to lead a club as well as those who can be
there to listen to the kids recite their verses each week. No experience
necessary! Just a heart for kids and Christ.
If you would like to know more about the program or are interested in
volunteering, please contact Becky Marx, our children's ministry coordinator at
the church, 968-4222, or by email at:
shorelinekids@shorelinebaptist.org.

“Winning at Work & Home” is the 2nd
in a series of three studies, which comprise the
Men’s Fraternity.
Men's Fraternity provides men
with an encouraging process that teaches them how to live lives of authentic
manhood as modeled by Jesus Christ and directed by the Word of God. Men come
together and strengthen each other through weekly sessions that
combine biblical teaching and small group
interaction.
This 16-session study focuses on the two
areas that are central to a man's life: career and family. It explores how a
man can enjoy and engage his work and how he can relate to a woman in a whole
new way.
The workbook for this course is $12. The first part of this course will
begin on September 21st at 6:00 pm in the Community Room and run through
November 16th. The second part of the course will resume after the new
year.
You may sign up by calling the church office at
714-968-4222 or on the Sunday Communication Card.
Please sign up as soon as you can so we
can know how many workbooks to order. Thanks!

the Villainous League of Bad Guys.

the Bible.
